2) Brasserie Blanc, Jericho – Unsurprisingly a French new year is what everyone’s after so while the evening sitting is fully booked, you can have a stylish lunch there instead. How about kicking off with a blood orange paloma tequila cocktail, then the grilled mackerel with green apple sauce fresh apple & caper salad, parsley oil, for mains the duck leg confit with blackberry sauce and finish up with the delectable pistachio souffle served with rich chocolate ice cream. 4) The Crown New Year’s Eve Ball, Faringdon – Live music, drinks and a seven course tasting menu in the ballroom. cooked by fabulous head chef Samuel Squires. Start with pre dinner cocktails in the George Jeffreys bar followed by a menu featuring everything from lobster to fillet of beef with a fine wine pairing menu. 5) OSJ’s New Year’s Eve Concert at Dorchester Abbey, 6pm-8pm. It that time of year again for OSJ’s annual New Years Eve concert featuring favourites including Strauss and Lehar Waltzes, Polkas and Songs. Think Borodin – Polovtsian Dances, Jeremy Lubbock – Emmanuel, a jazz medley with Derek Paravicini piano, Poppy McGhee violin, Ashleigh Turley piano, Hannah Fraser-Mackenzie soprano, OSJ Voices all conducted by John Lubbock.
