There are 10 categories and we will be announcing one every day for the next 10 days. These include BEST NEWCOMER, BEST PUB/BAR, BEST CAFE, BEST RESTAURANT, BEST VEGGIE/VEGAN, BEST CHEF, BEST GASTROPUB, BEST EUROPEAN, BEST GLOBAL, BEST COMMUNITY FOOD PROJECT

Carpenters Arms, Fulbrook – Just off the Burford tourist path, this family run pub with chef patron Tom Addy at the helm alongside his wife Siobhan, and friend Ryan Humphrey, is a remarkably convivial set up. The food is incredible, and yet the old pub manages to be relaxing, fun and accessible. Whether you read the papers by the fire or pop in for lunch, the locals know they are onto a good thing. Duke, Woodstock – From live music to burger nights, this family friendly pub is host to everything from wakes to parties and gatherings. Lamb and Flag, Oxford – after so much uncertainty it’s wonderful to have the historic and globally famous Lamb and Flag back after a long period of closure. The Medley, Binsey – what a bar! Open air, running from April to late summer with riverside views to die for. Cycle, walk or run there unless you have a boat handy. Plough, West Hanney – a community pub in every sense of the word. Whether it’s the Six Nations, Cheltenham Gold cup, Mother’s Day, charity events or just a good roast you’re after, this is the new place to go. Landlord Owain Llwyd Jones is the best and with Luke Mayor in the kitchen the dining room is always full, as is the spill over tent. Punter, Osney – It’s location is like something out of an Evelyn Waugh novel. Sit in the courtyard garden and watch the boats pass by, snuggle inside in the winter and soak up its warming hospitality and revel in the endlessly inventive veggie/vegan menu. Tap Social Taproom, Botley – The source of endless fun, serving all their home brewed beer, hosts to endless pop up food stalls, bands, music, dance, family friendly events and so much more. The perfect place to hang out, their outside space is the go-to-place in the summer, and people watch. It’s gaining national notoriety as the coolest place in town. White House – Bladon – Massively community focussed which is apt considering its a community pub, there are always things going on here from coffee mornings, to birthday parties and weekend brunch. White Rabbit, Oxford – Always packed, the go-to local for so many in Oxford, that heady mix of atmosphere, pizza, beer and such a central location never loses its thrill.
