The Scenic Supper at Todenham Manor Farm

The Scenic Supper is reopening its amazingly unique, Cotswolds dining experience on April 1 at Todenham Manor Farm near Chipping Norton.

Seven new, bespoke glasshouses (for 2-4) have been built specially on a Cotswold hilltop with panoramic views where you can dine on a five course menu.

So what can we expect? Social distancing aside, The Scenic Supper offers local, seasonal produce and a Farm to Fork ethos. Its menus include Todenham Manor Farm’s award-winning rare breeds beef and pork, with poultry, lamb and game sourced locally.

The five course, monthly changing set menu costs Â£65 a head and boasts dishes such as chargrilled Vale of Evesham asparagus & hollandaise sauce, Cotswold lamb neck, smoked mashed potato, wild garlic salsa verde & purple sprouting, followed by an English custard tart & green rhubarb sorbet. There is also a vegetarian menu.

The brainchild of three local school friends, Toby Baggott, Sam Lawson-King and Scott Sullivan, The Scenic Supper was launched last year in response to lockdown and Covid restrictions.

“We want to ensure that The Scenic Supper experience will be truly memorable. Diners are keen to eat in our bespoke glasshouse and enjoy the panoramic views even when Covid restrictions are eventually lifted,” says Toby Baggott.

Pre-lockdown, Toby worked in events management, Sam has a professional background in wine and hospitality as well as owning and making the award-winning King Stone Gin, and Scott runs an outside catering business.

Immediately affected by lockdown restrictions, the trio decided to launch the socially distanced dining experience using small, re-conditioned glasshouses on the farm situated near Morton-On-The Marsh on the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire border.

They also introduces an on-site kitchen in a recycled shipping container to ensure that all the dishes are all made onsite despite the rural location.

Drinks are prepared and served from the newly constructed King Stone Gin Bar including gin-based cocktails, English sparkling wine, locally made beer and cider, wine and soft drinks.

Tables serving a pre-selected five-course tasting menu are bookable on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from April 1- September 25 2021.

The Scenic Supper caters for those aged 18+.
