The Oxfordshire Yeoman in Freeland

The Oxfordshire Yeoman in Freeland, taken over by young couple Anna and Paul in October 2020, is in need of a new chef, like so many other places in the county.

But rather than closing the kitchen doors they’re bringing some of Oxfordshire’s best street food vendors to their West Oxfordshire village.

“We’ve had a rollercoaster first eight months and the lack of chefs is just another thing on the list, but we’re determined it will not stop us providing delicious food and drink “

So what can we expect? At lunchtimes and on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings expect their usual hearty pub food menu but come Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, you can taste Italian, traditional Punjabi food, BBQ, woodfired pizza, Thai and much more…

The street food will be kicking off on Thursday 10th June at 5.30pm with live music from local, up and coming indie artist Danny Mellin and food from the mouth-watering Lorencini Arancini until 8pm.

It will then be followed by a BBQ on Friday 11th to help kick off the Euros and traditional Indian street food from Wantage based husband and wife duo, Tikka and Tadka on Saturday 12th June

Next week we’re pleased to be welcoming Witney based legends (and Freeland bred!) The Edge Eatery, plus hots dogs. READ ABOUT EDGE EATERY HERE: http://551.326.mywebsitetransfer.com/we-are-crazy-busy-why-the-edge-eatery-in-witney-is-such-a-raging-success-despite-opening-during-the-pandemic/

Landlady Anna Munday explains: “We’ve had a rollercoaster first eight months and it seems like the lack of chefs in the county and the whole of the country is just another thing on the list, but we’re determined it will not stop us providing delicious food and drink to our locals and visitors.

“So we’re pleased to be scouring Oxfordshire for some of the best street food vendors to pop up here at The Yeoman over the coming month or two.
