The Hollybush in Witney has been named Best Pub & Bar in Oxfordshire at the National Pub & Bar Awards it was announced today.

The prestigious awards showcase the UK’s finest venues in each county with 15 regional award winners being named at a prestigious event in London on 6 September.

Luke Champion, co-owner of The Hollybush says: We are thrilled to win this award giving us recognition as the top pub and bar in Oxfordshire. We have always aimed to fill our pub with happy people enjoying delicious food and good drinks and this Award shows that we’re doing something right!.

Taken on by Luke Champion and Alex Vaughan, local lads with a passion for hospitality in 2015, they also own The Horseshoes just over the road.

Alex Vaughn adds: The last 18 months has been the hardest trading period since we opened the pub in 2015 and this award is a great pat on the back to the whole team. We are grateful for the support from old and new customers since we reopened in April and looking forward to operating without restrictions from Monday 19th July.

Last summer, the pair opened four unique dining houses in the garden (read all about it here http://551.326.mywebsitetransfer.com/review-why-you-must-hotfoot-it-down-to-the-hollybush-in-witney-to-try-out-their-new-garden-room-dining-pods/), which were a bit hit for social distanced diners as well as providing sheltered dining for small groups.

And with latest appointment Dan Woolaston as new general manager, their winning streak looks set to continue.

The sixth National Pub & Bar Awards is organised in conjunction with Pub & Bar magazine.
