The Jolly Christmas Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg is top of the Christmas story book pile in our house at this time of year!
So what a treat to see one of our favourite festive stories bought to life by Story Pocket Theatre, who bring this timeless Christmas tale and its colourful characters to life through music, puppetry and magical storytelling to create a truly magical experience from start to finish.
The unique BT space has been transformed into a Christmassy wonderland to encapsulate the magic of the story, the creative seating and imaginative set design carefully curated to enable maximum engagement and participation for it’s 3-6 year-old audience.
As a result, the children giggled with excitement throughout, totally engaged as The Jolly Christmas Postman goes on his way delivering all his letters on Christmas Eve to our fairy tale favourites, with some twists and turns along the way.
The question is will he ever reach the North Pole to deliver the all important childrens letters to Father Christmas?!
The cast portray perfectly the identity of each and every character with such energy and excitement, keeping little ones (and big ones) fixated for the hour-long performance never wanting it to end!
A must see for little ‘uns to get that Christmas magic flowing….
