Old Parsonage Hotel - Oxford

The Old Parsonage Hotel in Oxford was named Hotel Restaurant of the Year (South) at The Food Awards England 2023 this week.

The award recognises excellence and celebrates the diversity and quality of the dining experience across England.

And the upmarket hotel and its esteemed restaurant The Parsonage Grill was not alone in bringing home the prizes, with Oxfordshire well represented amongst the winners at this week’s awards ceremony.

The Best Street Food award went to Patrons Pizza in Thame, who has been a finalist for the past four years. Run by Meryl Hasanov, pictured here with his wife Helen and daughter Eliza, he said: “Our win is down to passion, innovation and community, but consistency is just as important as winning.”

Further winners included the Best Italian Establishment South award which went toPizza Calzone in Banbury and the Best Mexican Establishment South, which was won by Dorindo’s Mexican Restaurant in Abingdon.

The Caterer of the Year Overall Winner went to another Oxfordshire catering establishment – Fingers and Forks Ltd in Henley on Thames.
