Hello Vegas - Lionel Richie

Headline star Lionel Richie has cancelled his scheduled appearance at Nocturne Live at Blenheim Palace this summer, it was announced today.

The famous singer/songwriter has also cancelled all his 2022 ‘Hello’ summer tour dates, and made the following statement on Twitter this morning: “As Covid and its variants continue to impact the world, I have decided to hold off on my European tour this summer. The most important thing to me is the health of my fans, band and crew. I hope you all understand and I hope to see you very soon when we can all gather safely.”

But fans are devastated by the news: One ticket holder said: “I am gutted about this. I have waited three years to see him and had front row tickets. Who knows if he’ll tour again?”

Lionel Richie was first scheduled to headline Nocturne in 2020 at the famous concert series in Woodstock, which was then postponed due to the pandemic.

“I am gutted about this. I’ve waited three years to see him and had front row tickets. Who knows if he’ll tour again? I hope he’s OK though. There must be a reason for him cancelling so suddenly?”

Rescheduled for 2021, the same happened again, so ticket holders were excited about finally seeing him at the sold out gig on June 19.

The Nocturne line-up in June 2022 at Blenheim Palace is now missing its headline star Lionel Richie

Other Nocturne Live shows have not been affected by this announcement and will proceed as scheduled. For those still wishing to enjoy the June 2022 series of concerts at Blenheim Palace this summer Simply Red, David Gray, and UB40 feat. Ali Campbell are still appearing.
