Gusto

Dine under olive trees in the new 10,000sq ft restaurant, enjoy the open kitchen, book the chef’s table style pizza experience, marvel at the huge private dining room…..

Yes, Gusto Italian is opening a new restaurant in Oxford later this year, in the historic Mitre Hotel building on Oxford High Street, and it’s pulling out all the stops.

Work is underway at the former Mitre Hotel on Oxford High Street

The new Gusto Italian will open its new restaurant and bar before Christmas in the Grade II listed property which has been vacant since 2018.

“Integral to our plans has been preserving the original character and history of our new home”

Its 14th UK site, work has now begun to transform the historic building into a 10,000sq ft restaurant.

So what can we expect? An 170 cover restaurant in the huge downstairs dining room, a 60-cover upstairs private dining room and a cosy cocktail bar.

Matt Snell, Gusto Italian CEO said: “Regeneration work on our new Oxford site is now underway and it’s exciting to see the venue starting to take shape. We can’t wait to open and transport our guests to Southern Italy for brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks.”

“Our interactive chef’s table Pizza Experience is hugely popular and the open kitchen means guests can enjoy watching our talented chefs create our contemporary Italian dishes.”

Matt continues: “Oxford is a beautiful city which has so much synergy with our brand and spirit and we are looking forward to becoming a big part of the community.
