This year’s much-loved and desperately needed Cornbury Festival held at Great Tew Park in Oxfordshire, will not go ahead as planned.

In a statement today, the organisers said: “It is with sad resignation that due to the issues around running a festival during Covid, Cornbury have had to postpone the festival for the second year to 2022.

“We can’t risk trying to stage the festival knowing it could still be cancelled at the very last minute”

“We will be back with an already stellar line up and tickets can be carried over again from both years 2020 and 2021.

“Bryan Adams is retained from 2021 as Friday Night headliner for Cornbury 2022 and Jools Holland is carried over from 2020 and confirmed for 2022. More line up announcements will be made later this year.”

Hugh Phillimore told festival goers: “It really pains me to have to tell you I’ve finally decided to postpone Cornbury again – to July, 9 and 10 2022. We just don’t think we’ll be able to produce anything that resembles the lovely little event we’ve all enjoyed for the last 16 years.

“we’d be hugely grateful if festival goers would continue to support us and roll over their tickets to next year once again”

“We also can’t risk trying to stage the festival knowing it could still be cancelled at the very last minute by our local authorities – there’s currently no cancellation insurance available and, brave as we are, it’s just too scary to attempt it.”

He added: “Of course we’d be hugely grateful if festival goers would continue to support us and roll over their tickets to next year once again, in which case, bookings will be protected against any price increases next year.

“However, we do understand that this may not be a viable option for everyone, so refunds will be available via our ticketing company Eventim. I’m sorry we can’t all meet in our beautiful Cotswold home this year but, it goes without saying, we’ll make it one hell of a party in 2022!”

All ticketholders, from both 2020 and 2021 will be contacted by Eventim shortly so there is no need to do anything at this stage.
