Going Bananas in Lockdown?

Are your kids climbing the walls? Constantly raiding the fridge? Giving each other sneaky unsupervised haircuts when your backs are turned? YIKES! Then you’re going bananas in lockdown!

But do not worry. Woodstock-based children’s writers, Charlotte and Adam Guillain, have been stuck indoors too, just as their brand-new picture book, One Banana, Two Bananas, hit the bookshops.

And we have three signed copies to giveaway!!!!!!!

Wittily illustrated by Sam Lloyd and published by Egmont, this crazy counting rhyme features bananas in pyjamas – obviously – on a quest to escape from a very hungry monkey. The fearless friends ride on llamas and swim with piranhas before being rescued by a banana boat just in time. But this is not just a story your locked-down children can read and enjoy. They can join in, too!

Charlotte and Adam have created a bunch of fun-packed banana-based activities on their YouTube channel.

The authors teamed up with Woodstock Live impresario, Greg Hooper, to create a theme song and dance, which you can see in all its glory here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsELa8rj_TQ&list=PLKc1xMrkDMTVVGgDSAa8NHcGMmoP_ku7n&index=2

Why not have a go at the dance yourselves? Or you could follow Adam & Charlotte’s recipe for yummy banana bread, listen to lots of free stories, play some of the authors’ storytelling games or simply watch them throw their dignity to the wind – just drop in on their YouTube channel and subscribe so you don’t miss anything new.

You can also watch them read One Banana, Two Bananas as part of Waterstones daily video storytime. And if you fancy buying the book, it’s still available from Waterstones online and Amazon. Just go bananas!

To win a copy of the signed book just like, follow, share and tag our relevant social media posts. We have && to give away. The closing date is Saturday May 2. Winners will be chosen and contacted afterwards.
