This year’s Oxfordshire Mind Comedy Gala is going online! Yes, Oxford’s biggest comedy night of the year is back with an incredible line-up of stars and comedians all raising money for mental health on April 24.
This year the show, organised by Jericho Comedy, will be introduced by an exclusive video from comedy legend and Mind UK president Stephen Fry.

Hosted by Jericho Comedy resident MC Alex Farrow, 2021’s epic line up features Rosie Jones, Helen Bauer, Huge Davies, Janine Harouni, Chelsea Birkby, Ivo Graham and Nish Kumar.
“It’s an absolutely incredible line-up this year to laugh the lockdown away in aid of mental health,” Jericho Comedy’s Harry Househam says “and we couldn’t be more excited.
“This is the first time we’ve hosted Rosie Jones in Oxford, one of the hottest rising stars in comedy”

Ivo Graham is another Oxford regular and headliner, who will be sharing the stage with Huge Davies, Helen Bauer and Janine Harouni – all nominated for the best newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe.

“Chelsea Birkby is an Oxfordshire Mind trustee due to her brilliantly funny and candid approach to turning lived experience with mental health into excellently crafted comedy material. Not to mention Mr. Saturday night, Jericho Comedy host and compere Alex Farrow. It really is a dream line up,” Harry adds.
Was it touch and who whether the gala could go ahead? “We’re so chuffed to be able to hold the gala in 2021. This year, more than any other year, has really shown people the value of supporting mental health causes.
“IT’S BEEN AN INCREDIBLY HARD YEAR FOR HOSPITALITY, EVENTS, ARTS, AND LIVE COMEDY, BUT THAT WON’T STOP US BRINGING THE LAUGHS”
“In lockdown all of our mental health is struggling, and we’ve not had any of the normal means to cope. And although it has been an incredibly hard year for hospitality, events, arts, and live comedy around the UK, that won’t stop us from bringing the laughs and raising vital funds for Oxfordshire Mind.”
This is the 4th annual comedy gala staged by Jericho Comedy which have raised over £70,000 for local mental health to date.
So how hard has it been to stage online? “Our partnership with Next Up Comedy streaming service is what has really made the show possible this year,” Harry says. “They aren’t taking any proceeds from tickets sold which is so generous and yet have really led the way and been at the forefront of online comedy since the start of the pandemic. We’ve loved working with them every step of the way.
