The Michelin boys! The Nut Tree's Mike North and Le Manoir's Raymond Blanc at last year's Ox In A Box Food Awards

They’ve done it again. Both Le Manoir and The Nut Tree have kept their Michelin stars it was announced tonight.

Le Manoir’s infamous Raymond Blanc said: “My team and I are truly honoured to have retained our two Michelin stars for 39 consecutive years…I still remember well the day I received my first Michelin star (in my tiny Quat’Saisons in Oxford) all these years on; that still remains such a proud moment.

“We work in one of the greatest industries, and it is truly exciting to see a new generation of British chefs who bring their world class gift and creativity”

“I would like to thank my team who have shared my vision. Without them we would not have achieved such a milestone. We work in one of the greatest industries, and it is truly exciting to see a new generation of British chefs who bring their world class gift and creativity.”

Le Manoir in Oxfordshire’s Great Milton has also retained a Green Michelin Star for the third year running.

The Nut Tree in Murcott was no less excited at retaining its star for the 15th year running. “Couldn’t be prouder of Mike and the whole team who are all absolutely amazing. None of this would happen without each and every one of you.

“Still the only pub in Oxfordshire to have a Michelin Star alongside the magical Le Manoir with their pair of beautiful stars. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you all,” said Imogen North, who runs the historic pub in Murcott with her chef patron husband Mike.

In Oxford itself only Arbequina on Cowley Road and Pompette in Summertown kept their hallowed places.

And while there were extensive mentions county-wide, with new entries including The Yurt at Nicholsons in North Aston where Andrew Carr is head chef, several places were noticeably absent this year.
